Hazelnut chocolat spread

Only 4 ingredients and a mixer are needed to make your own chocolate and hazelnut spread! This homemade spread is rich in proteins and without any unecessary oil. No need to buy it at the grocery store.

150g hazelnuts
100g sugar
12g unsweetened cacao powder
15g Yusto

Storage

  • Store in a closed glass jar in a dry cool place. 
  1. Preheat the oven at 180°C (300°F). 
  2. Roast hazelnuts for 15 min at 180°C.
  3. Let them cool down before rubing them with your hands or a wet towel to remove the brown skin. 
  4. Make a caramel: put the sugar in a saucepan at low heat and let it melt and then caramelize. 
  5. Once the caramel is golden, pour it on roasted hazelnuts put on a parchment paper.
  6. Let everything cool down at room temperature.
  7. Once the caramel is hard, break it into small piece so that everything can fit into your mixer bowl. 
  8. Mix everything until you obtain a smooth spread. It can take 10 to 15 minutes depending on your mixer power. Don’t hesitate to scrape the bottom of your blender to facilitate the process. 
  9. When the spread has a liquid consistency, add the cacao powder and Yusto. 
  10. Mix again for 1 minute. 
  11. Pour the spread into a glass jar and enjoy immediately!
